The city centre can get extremely crowded, especially at the weekends, and the noise becomes unbearable. Something must be done immediately! Tom Absolutely! It has to stop! Daphne Definitely! Tom That would be brilliant. We shouldn't allow our traditions to disappear. We live in a neighbourhood with castles, tombs, arches that are from centuries ago. We inherited traditions of respect, responsibility and cleanliness as part of everyday life. We should continue to live that way. Daphne Sure! Tom I believe city design affects people's feelings about a place. Some cities, including ours, have got such a strong identity because of their history and architecture, the style of buildings and streets. Each time I walk along the paths of the old town or go past the arch or castle, I think of the people who once lived in or used those buildings. That's incredible! It makes me feel good, um, like a hero from those times! That's a blast from the past! Daphne Yes! I can understand that! I know people's moods can be affected by historical heritage. Tom Because it's about the traditions and buildings that were passed down from the past. They can't be ignored, uh, they can't be disrespected. Daphne Ancient ruins, like old castles or temples, famous landmarks, and traditional architecture give a city its character. A city without cultural and historical places has got no charm. That special, attractive quality, I mean. The historical ruin is a window into the past! Tom Exactly! That's why I'm really excited. We might be travelling to İstanbul next summer.
