Mr Elton, why is well-being important for the future? Well... Well-being for the future depends on raising people with well-being. We all imagine a society or communities whose members have physical, mental, emotional and social health. People without these cannot help to accomplish social purposes or contribute to society as they will be more focused on their own problems. As a society, you need healthy, educated, resilient, determined members to develop because they are more focused, and less likely to give up halfway through. Sustainability will not be a problem, then. With people who have well-being, who are often more optimistic, more innovative and more adaptable to changes, a society is more likely to advance and grow. İn order for the society to be a context with peace, mutual respect, comfort, and innovation, we should adopt future-oriented policies. These policies will run smoothly thanks to people with well-being, not people with health problems. The fewer problems people have, the more thoughtful, creative, and visionary they will be. This is the key. That's out of the question, but what about the reality of human nature? Our desire for well-being is there, we all wish for that. How will so many people be raised to meet the expectations? Thank you for this nice question. This is the most challenging task. People have their traits inherited from their parents. They may not always be desirable ones. With different motivations and desires, some may be so ambitious that they may have lower motivations for other everyday matters. They may become nervous when they face failure. They need time to develop a better understanding and to adapt to changes. Especially teachers and parents are responsible for being good models for children, all the adults, indeed. We should inspire children with respect, kindness and similar good qualities. We should treat them with sensitivity and try to understand them. Some will respond positively; some will not be as thoughtful as we expect. If we can do this, development in the society will be sustainable. Remember, this is human nature. Living together in a society requires wisdom, the ability to make good judgement. We should try to trust, cooperate and share to create a good society. Remember, the good is contagious. Be inspired for the better! Truly inspirational Dr Elton! I'd like to express my gratitude!
