Aims To recognize when someone introduces himself or herself To ask questions to learn someone’s name To introduce themselves in a simple way
Procedures 1. The teacher brings a small ball to the class and shows the picture in Appendix A. S/he introduces “Throw the ball” game and tells her/his name to the class. After that, s/he throws the ball to one of the students and asks him/her “What is your name?”. The teacher directs the student who gets the ball to tell his/her name and then to throw the ball to another student in the class and ask “What’s your name?”.
2. The teacher gives out the worksheet in Appendix A and asks the students to listen to the Tapecsript 2.1. Then s/he wants them to write the names of the children under the correct picture.
3. After the students finish the listening activity in Appendix A, the teacher asks the students to work in pairs and introduce themselves to each other.
