Dyslexia is a learning disability in which people have some difficulties in reading, writing, and maths. It doesn’t mean they are not smart. In fact, many people with dyslexia are highly intelligent and talented. Many famous scientists, artists, athletes, and actors are examples of this. Pablo Picasso is one of the most famous artists. He struggled with reading as a child. His teacher noticed his difficulty in reading and he was diagnosed with "reading blindness”. Luckily, his teacher helped him read and he coped with dyslexia. Picasso’s father was an artist and he supported him in art. Thanks to his ability to look at objects from a different perspective, he painted many stunning artworks. Muhammad Ali was a very successful athlete, but he struggled with reading in high school. He was diagnosed with dyslexia. He worked hard and improved his reading with some strategies such as memorising long passages and reading aloud. Finally, he overcame his challenge and graduated from high school. Ali and his wife wrote a series of magazines called Go the Distance to inspire young people with dyslexia. Albert Einstein is known for his brilliant theories in physics. He also struggled with dyslexia. He had trouble with words as a child. He didn’t talk much to other children or teachers, but he loved geometry and maths. He focused on his strengths and became famous for his work in science.
