Turkish biochemist Aziz Sancar was born in Mardin, Turkey, on September 8th 1946. He had a really great success story. It started in a small town in Turkey and still goes on in the USA. Aziz Sancar received his primary education in his hometown and graduated from Faculty of Medicine at Istanbul University with a great success. In 1977, he went to the USA to take his PhD degree at the University of Texas in Dallas. One year later, he married to Gwen Boles Sancar.
