He worked in a small bookshop and helped his family. Oliver was very talented in music, so his father bought him a guitar. He learned to play it very well.When his family moved to London, he met Robert Green there. He worked for a record company and realised that Oliver was a talented singer. Some time later, Oliver met David Brown. He became his manager and helped him become a famous pop star. In 1960, Oliver released his first record. It became very popular. It was also the year he appeared in his first film.Oliver met his wife, Helen, at a music festival in London. They got married and had a son. Although Oliver was a famous singer, he always supported young musicians and helped many charities. He gave concerts in many countries and won several music awards. He stopped performing when he was 65 and spent more time with his family. He died in 2010 at the age of 72.
